
Peter I. Katz
Vice President, Development and ConstructionIn 1998, Peter graduated from the University of Colorado's School of Business with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Prior to is return to Kansas City in 2001, Peter worked in hospitality management for hotels in Colorado, Northern California and in Yucatan, Mexico
Upon his return to Kansas City, he began working for DRS and Caliber Development in a variety of capacities. While employed with DRS and Caliber, he also served as the construction foreman on an 18 unit duplex development in Spring Hill, Kansas for Still Builders, Inc. His duties with DRS have included contract negotiations and preparation for contracted services, preparing financial application packets and proforma projections for refinance and new loans. His duties have also included the oversight of capital improvement projects and full rehabs in both Dallas and Kansas City. Peter's duties for DRS's Development Arm, to this point, have been the organization of the pre-construction aspects of development including the orchestration of architects, engineers and general contractor under the supervision of Ward Katz.
Peter is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Institute of Real Estate Management and is currently seeking his CCIM designation. Peter received a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Denver’s Daniels School of Business in 2008 and was awarded membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest honor accorded to a graduate business student.
